Tails went through a 2.0 process as well, now being able to breathe underwater and spin his tails like a helicopter to maintain momentum in midair. Using a unique two-cartridge gimmick, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles turned a development challenge into a playful way to get extra money from players years before Pokémon came along. Sonic Chronicles didn’t go down in history as a hidden gem, but it was a fairly interesting take on Sonic and company and far from the worst of the series’ spinoffs. Perhaps most notable, however, is the revamped version of the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure. Seeing as vampire shadow and normal shadow have almost unrivaled stats even when compsred to the two sonics. This wouldnt be as glaring of an error if there were more characters and there could be different combinations of stat maximums.
